Architectural Tour of the de Young Museum led by University of Illinois alum Chris Haas, project architect and designer of the de Young Museum.
Chris Haas spent five years collaborating with the Pritizker Prize-winning Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron. During this time, he served as a designer and project architect for the M. H. de Young Museum in San Francisco. Date: Saturday, November, 14, 2009 Time: 9:45am: Purchase general admission museum ticket(s) 10:00am: Group meet-up, entry court of de Young Museum 10:15am: Exterior architectural tour 10:30am: Interior architectural tour 11:00am: Q & A wrap up Location: de Young Museum 50 Hagiwara Tea Garden Drive San Francisco, CA 94118 Google Map We will first meet in the entry court of the museum. Chris will give a brief presentation and begin the tour! Register: This 45 minute hour architectural tour is open to SF Bay Area Illini club members ONLY and up to 2 guests. Cost is museum general admission tickets (to be purchased directly at the museum box office morning of event) plus $5 to join the private tour (purchase tickets here).
