Berkeley Prof. Dan Farber (UIUC BA '71, MA '72, JD '75) speaks on Climate Change!
Dan Farber is the Faculty Director of the Center for Law, Energy and the Environment, and Chair of the Energy and Resources Group at UC Berkeley. Come join fellow alumni to hear him speak on climate change.
"Addressing Climate Change: Where are We Now? What Happens Next?" International negotiations are coming up in Copenhagen, and the Senate is considering new climate legislation. In the meantime, action is already taking place -- in the European Union, in California, at U.S. EPA, and before the federal courts. Dan Farber reviews the state of play and discusses upcoming developments.

About Prof. Dan Farber:
Dan Farber is the Sho Sato Professor of Law and the Chair of the Energy and Resources Group at UC Berkeley. He is also the Faculty Director of the Center for Law, Energy and Environment.
The Energy and Resources Group is an interdisciplinary unit of UC Berkeley whose mission is to develop, transmit and apply critical knowledge to enable a future in which human material needs and a healthy environment are mutually and sustainably satisfied. The Center for Law, Energy and Environment (CLEE) is Berkeley Law's environment energy and law-focused research center. CLEE's mission is to foster interdisciplinary environmental and energy law and policy research and to translate that research into public policy solutions.
Professor Farber received a B.A. in philosophy with high honors in 1971 and an M.A. in sociology in 1972, both from the University of Illinois. In 1975 he earned his J.D. from the University of Illinois, where he was editor in chief of the law review and class valedictorian. After graduating, Professor Farber was a law clerk for Justice John Paul Stevens of the U.S. Supreme Court. Before coming to Berkeley, he taught at the University of Illinois and the University of Minnesota.
Among Prof. Farber's dozen books are Judgement Calls: Politics and Principle in Constitutional Law (Oxford University Press 2008); Retained by the People: The "Silent" Ninth Amendment and the Rights Americans Don't Know They Have (Basic Books 2007); and Lincoln's Constitution (University of Chicago Press 2003).
