On behalf of the entire Executive Board and your fellow Bay Area alumni, I would like to welcome you to the San Francisco Bay Illini (SFBI), a registered University of Illinois Alumni Association (UIAA) club. We’re looking forward to the new year!
In October 2008, the Silicon Valley Illini Club and the Golden Gate (San Francisco) Illini Club joined together and formed this combined club. The SFBI is committed to our mission of connecting the 19,000+ Illinois alums in the Bay Area – the largest Illini population outside the state of Illinois. This club has had dynamic, motivated leaders and I am honored to continue that tradition and bring quality events and programs to our SF Bay Area alumni.
So what are the benefits of membership?
We offer a wide range of events to expand your knowledge, advance your career and connect with fellow Illini inthe Bay Area:
- Happy Hours and networking events
- Speaker Series – Listen to leaders, visionaries, and great thinkers discuss the latest in technology, business, science, the arts, and more
- Annual Giants vs. Cubs game
- Community service events – Give back to the Bay Area community
- Outdoor and cultural events – hiking, sailing, golfing and museum tours
Members also enjoy free/discounted event admission, priority registration and access to members-only events, the SFBI job board and online alumni directory.
Your participation is the key to the Club’s success. Membership dues provide financial support to host Club events and provide membership services each year. Your membership contribution to the Club makes a real difference. We are also always looking for volunteers to help organize events and/or take leadership roles withthe Club, and we appreciate your suggestions and feedback.
Our Board continues to work to providing exciting opportunities for our members. We hope you take advantage of these opportunities to meet Illinois alumni from all around the greater Bay Area and become a member.
Welcome again. I look forward to seeing you at one of our events soon!
